Papers and letters, 1818-1897, of the Critz family of Tennessee; majority of letters are from Jacob Peters of Botetourt County, Va., to Philip Critz relating family news, agricultural matters, and local and national political issues; papers include statements of accounts of Philip Critz with various merchants; some references to mill equipment and supplies. Indenture, 1821, between James H. Steward and Philip Critz for a tract of land in Scott County, Va. Account book, 1764-1785, of John Craford concerns weaving. Account books, 1836-1880, of James H. Lowrey and William W. Lowrey, include accounts of labor, daily travel, expenses, and poetry. Poetry written by William W. Lowrey during Civil War expresses pro-Union sentiments. Account book, 1850-1857, of James McNabb includes family genealogy notes in back of book.
